3 Weeks down… Healthier choices 🧘🏼‍♀️🏋🏼‍♀️🥦🥗

A couple of weeks ago we booked a holiday. Yup, que the diet and the exercise. However, I’ve been meaning to get my life back on track for a while. ( Story of my life)

It’s funny how addicted to bad behaviours we become. Have you ever really thought about what you eat? Are you addicted to sugar? You may be thinking, what me? Ha! No! That’s ridiculous! Honestly, it’s actually more common than you think. I started to become more aware recently, after I couldn’t go a day without it. So I went cold turkey for 6days then Easter Sunday I had 1/4 of an Easter egg.

It was delicious, in-fact it tasted better than ever. As I had given my body a break. So, why the change? I noticed over the last few years I’ve actually gained just under 4 Stone.

F….Me! I know right? Where did this come from? Lack of health keeping, exercise, self-love.

It’s easily done but it’s harder to shift. I’m 27 years old. I’m not comfortable in my own skin. Who can change this? Oh, Emmmm…. ME! So, I’ve decided to make this more of a lifestyle change then call it a diet. I don’t deny myself any foods, I just make healthier choices with the odd treat here and there and so far 3 weeks in I feel great!

Food wise I would say I am 75% healthy food ( fresh veg,fish, Quorn ect) and 25% foods we all love and really shouldn’t eat.( pizza,bread,pasta,chocolate)

The Secret

I drink 2-3 litres of water a day! The benefits I’ve found so far are my skin is smoother, my energy levels have increased. I’m in less pain the day after gym sessions. My skins glowing. I’m waaaaaaaay less bloated than usual!

What? From water you say…. Yup! That’s it, water! No major secret. Water is my go to drink and has been for years but my consumption has increased. Every now and then I made add some orange dilute but only when I need a different taste. You can also add cucumber,lime, lemon, any fruit to be honest. Pop is like a treat to me. I’m not a huge fan but I do like a Coke now and then. The bubbles make your face twist about as you forget how fizzy coke is.

 

Exercising

Week 1 – I went to the gym twice. I was disappointed in myself.

Week 2 – I went to the gym 3 times and was disappointed in myself.

Week 3 – I went to the gym 4 times. I started to become proud of myself.

Week 4 Monday Nailed it!! But Today is Rest day Tuesday!

Tip: watch health documentaries whilst doing Cardio. I recently watched ‘Hungry for change and In defence of Food’ on Netflix.

So what do I aim for this week!!! Well 5days active.  Yes I work 37.5 hours a week and exercise! There isn’t really an excuse not to. I just made a couple over last few years! I hope my own motivation to bust this fat will help me teach my mind that this is the way forward. I’m not perfect, but who is?

 

 

 

I have days I just want to curl up into my Jim jams, raid the chocolate, cakes and takeaway but as long as this doesn’t happen everyday – I will survive!

I can’t wait to see how the further weeks go! My feeling should get better and better.

I looked in the mirror, and when I day looked I mean I looked at my flaws but I seen them as achievements not disappointments. I have done this! ME, no-one else. ME!

As I always tell people –

“There is only ONE YOU in this world and that is pretty damn Amazing!! “

There isn’t a quick fix. It’s all about healthier choice. Lifestyle change that is manageable. You can take diet pills, shakes and meals but can you sustain this for the rest of your life? No. The weight will come back quicker than you lost and you are back to square one. I’ve been there. I’m not out of my unhappiness but slowly and surely I will get there. It takes time and dedication. I got myself into this position. I WILL get myself out!

Vitamins

If you eat right you get most vitamins from your food. However, I like to take Aloe Vera high strength, B complex & B12. I take vitamin C tablets more when I feel a cold coming on. If I get cold/ fly I take Echinacea tablets Previous blog
