What is your Monday Motivation? Today mine was visiting the Elemis counter! I spoke to Jill from Debenhams, Intu Eldon Square in the heart of Newcastle city centre last week. She offered me a complimentary facial to try out Elemis products. What an amazing way to start my hectic week ahead! How could I say no?
Obviously I tweeted about it and had it all over my instagram story! It was well worth it!!
Okay, so first of all, why didn’t anyone tell me about this hidden little gem in Debenhams?
I don’t usually associate a tranquil, quiet, relaxing experience within a department store. I’m so used to the rushing about, being barged out the way. However, they do have some cute rooms hidden away that can transport you to the most calming haven.
I arrived Monday 23rd September for my 10 o’clock appointment. I was warmly greeted by Jill. She made me feel relaxed and at ease from the minute I stepped into the Elemis area.
First of all she asked me to make myself comfortable at the consultation table. She gave me a consulation form. Jill explained the reason we fill out the forms is so they can can understand what kind of skin you have and then she would customise a facial to suit my type.
Once I filled out the form she showed me the skin lab machine (OOOH,ARRRR)
You place your chin on a blue chin piece and close your eyes. You see 2 flashes and that’s everything done. The none filtered images appear on the computer. It was so intriguing. It showed 6 layers of my skin, Spots, wrinkles, texture, pores, brown spots and red areas.
Jill complimented me on my skin. I was a little dehydrated, had a few open pores and some red areas across my nose and cheeks. Not too worry, Elemis have plenty of products to target your issue areas. The Optimum close-up of your skin it’s definately not an Instagram photo!
I must admit, I was horrified by the photo on the screen. So sadly you wont be seeing a larger photo than the one on the comuputer screen.
The benefits of being able to take these images can help point out your target areas. I was grateful to finally be able to understand why these areas are always a constant problem for me. I was really impressed by this machine and Jill’s knowledge around why they do it and the products that can be recommended.
So, after Jill explained my results she talked me through the products one by one that she was going to use on my face. I felt very comfortable when she was explaining this to me as she was just a beauty book of knowledge. I was really impressed by this machine and Jill’s knowledge around why they do it and how the products work.
I was more than happy to listen to her explaining the products to me. She even let me test out some of the products on my hand and let me smell the ones that she was going to be using. Silky smooth cream and wow did they smell yummy! Hello face food you smell like a spa in a pipet.
Next she took me into the back room which is a little hidden gem of Eldon Square, personally I didn’t know this existed. Located on the second floor of Debenhams. When you walk into the room your greeted by the lovely tranquil spa music. You enter the ambience of a calm dimmed light setting.
Next she asked if I could make myself comfortable whilst she left the room. A couple of minutes later when Jill came back in the room she explained that the chair I was sitting on was also a massage chair. She expressed that some customers enjoy it and some customers ask for it to be turned off. this made me curious. When she asked if I wanted it switched on I replied, ‘Absolutely let’s give it a shot and I will let you know if I need it turned off’.
Thoughts on the massage chair. Okay, this chair is insane. I’m not sure how to explain it it’s almost like an ocean, big massage balls caressing your body I felt like I was Floating through the waves. The chair first asseses your height and then tightens around the bottom of your legs. This was pretty cool as then it massages to your height.
Pretty cool right?
Jill kept checking that I was okay. Halfway through my facial I asked if she could turn off, so I could relax and enjoy the facial. After she had completed my facial she gave me a shoulder massage which was very relaxing she put some rehydrating gel balm across my shoulders which would help De-stress my shoulders as I am currently full of knots. (Small cry, definately down to working in an office)
I found Jill very easy to talk too. She is so lovely and an absolute credit to Elemis. Every time I asked her a question about the products she knew the answer straight off the bat.
I now have a Skincare programme put in place to help with my weekly routine. Cleanse, Tone (exfoliate + Mask 1/2 x weekly), Oil serum, eyes and moisturise.
This was my first experience of having a facial in the middle of the city centre whilst out shopping for the day. I would highly recommend this whether you pop in for a coffee or a chat with your friends, it’s great to treat yourself to a nice facial. We forget about our skin. It’s very important to take care of your skin. Many people use make-up on a daily basis but if you don’t look after the foundation the results won’t be as successful.
Also I must stress it’s really important that we keep our skin hydrated. Drink more water!!! ( I try my best) and invest in some skin care!
I had read that The collagen mask is highly recommended and I could see why when I had the chance to try it out. My skin felt so fresh. I felt relaxed and glowing walking out of the store. I almost forgot where I was I floated around Eldon Square afterwards. Smiling away.
Most of the time I rush here and there. I do this and that for others. I forget about myself. So today is a ME day it’s so important you give yourself time for YOU! Don’t feel guilty your sanity is more important. Enjoy it 🙏💞 #selflove #quote #meday #selfloveweek #inspiration #motivation #pilates #yoga #peace #like #health #workout #gym #happiness #smile #blog #bblogger #picoftheday #instadaily #instagood
When I got home my partner couldnt stop staring at my face. He’s so sweet. He always recognises anything I do. Box of compliments anyone? Hes got loads hehe. (blushing while typing) Glowing!!
Jill also informed me about the next launch event which is on November 9th in Debenhams Eldon Square. I booked my place instantly as I am off work that day, ‘YAY!’.
I can’t wait, I’m so excited to see the new technology which has been released. I can’t wait to try out some more products in the range and I think I might have to treat myself!
