In life it is so easy to just wake up, go to work, come home and repeat.  Have you ever just took a minute to think how can I make this world a better place?

So I had some thoughts and thought I would share them with you.

1. A Smile

Positivity is always important and this is part of who I am. I always start with a smile. You would be surprised how much power a smile can hold. Did you know 1 in 4 people suffer with a form of mental health? So next time you make eye contact with someone, regardless if you know them or not, share your smile. You could help save someone’s life. A smile is free and you have plenty to give so why not share them with the world. Remember to appreciate the little things in life because some people don’t even have those.

2. Share your time IMG_4224

Volunteer. Make volunteering the new social. Whether you do this through work or with your friends, many places in your local area need volunteers. Have you ever gave up an hour of your day to help your local community? whether this be helping clean out your local nature spots, helping out at your local school, visiting a nursery home to help our older generation smile. Could you commit? think of it like this if it is only an hour there are 24 hours in a day, 168 hours in a week and 8736 hours in a year! is there any reason you cannot spare 1 hour of your time?

Now I have you thinking. So where will you volunteer?

3. Donate your unwanted possessions

Donate unwanted clothes. There are hundreds of charities that will benefit from your unwanted items for example HnM will give you a £5 off voucher when you donate some old clothes to use when you spend over £30.  they also have a section of clothes that are made out of organic cotton. Some of the proceeds are donated to

4. Exercise for Charity

There are hundreds of charities out there who need help. Why not use your fitness?  Help raise money for a charity of your choice. I have done this myself, I did a 10K Race for Cancer research. Everyone knows someone who has had cancer. This awful disease affects so many people in our world. Lets help towards finding a cure. Choose the charity that touches your heart and be apart of history.

5. Shop with a purpose.

We all have that favourite item to buy mine happens to be handbags. I always love the feeling of getting a new bag. if you now me personally you won’t be surprised I chose to write about this one.

Now what if there was a brand who was supportive of others needs? Well it is you’re lucky day! I found MAHI this is a brand who donate $1.50 from the sale of each bag to support FRANK water projects and have helped 300,000 people gain access to clean water since they started in 2005.  Every MAHI leather bag is made to order and can be personalised with initial embroidery on any of their bags.  How cool is that? So whether you want to get yourself a treat or someone special in your life you are also helping support Frank water projects. Amazing right?

What bag would you choose? I’m more of a Tote girl. I love bright colours but there is nothing nicer then a smooth brown/tanned leather to be filled with all your bits and bobs. Funny enough my partner hate it when I have my ‘Annual’ bag clear out. Have you ever realised your bags too full, but you have no idea what’s in it? Yup that’s me all the time.

Its time to dress yourself around your bag.

6. Recycle ♻️

Do you proactively recycle?

I like to do my bit. I have a crate I keep near my back door and put all my recycle items in. Do you check what can Be recycled? Always read the back of your bottles and boxes. Even clothes, leaflets, newspapers can be recycled. So why is it important? Well, you are helping protect the environment. Do you really need More of an explanation? A good example of this is the wildlife. If you don’t recycle ♻️ you are potential destroying our wildlife. Other reasons to recycle are:

  • Reduce landfill waste
  • Reduce pollution
  • Protect your environment
  • Save energy

It’s that easy. Make good/better choices on what you put in the bin. Be mindful and help the world one step at a time.
